God's plan and communion
Along with all the disciples of Christ, the Catholic Church based on God's plan her ecumenical commitment to gather all in unity. "The Lord of Ages wisely and patiently follows out the plan of his grace to us sinners, recently has begun to bestow more generously upon Christians remorse over their divisions and a longing for unity. Many men all over the world have been touched by this grace, and even among our separated brethren, by the prompting of the Holy Spirit's grace, a movement every day for the wider restoration of unity among all Christians. At this movement, which is called ecumenical, are those who invoke the Triune God and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, and not merely as individuals, but also together in groups, in which they heard the Gospel and that the individual is said to have them and the Church of God Most, however, although in different ways, aspire to the Church of God and a visible, that is truly universal and sent to the whole world that the world may be converted to the Gospel and so be saved for glory of God "6.8. This statement UR decree must be read in context of the whole conciliar magisterium. The Second Vatican Council expresses the Church's decision to take on the task of ecumenism to promoting Christian unity and to present it with conviction and force: "This Sacred Council exhorts all the Catholic faithful, recognizing the signs of the times, participate with enthusiasm work of ecumenism "7.
